Garden Club members and anyone who enjoys growing flowers are invited to enter. There is no fee to enter. Unless specified, all plant material must be grown by the exhibitor and entries are limited to one per class. There are 30 classes, and you may enter as many classes as you like. Exhibitors must bring their own containers, except single roses in Rose Classes.

First, second and third place ribbons may be awarded in each class. The Award for “Best in Show” will be presented at the Flower Show. Awards will also be given for “Most Points Overall,” “People’s Choice,” and for each Class and these will be presented at the Garden Club Summer Social in July.
All entries must be in between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, Saturday June 7 at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre, centre concourse. Judging will commence at 11:00 am. Judging is done in accordance with the BC Council of Garden Club’s Judging Standards. The decision of the judges is final.Entries must  be picked up between 5:00 and 5:30 pm of the same day. You may delegate, in writing, someone to
pick up for you. Unclaimed entries will be given away. Please fill your name and phone number on the entry form (downloadable entry form linked above).

Definitions:

1. Floral Arts Exhibits– made of plant material, with or without accessories according to the show schedule. Plant material must predominate over all other components. No artificial plant material is allowed. Painted and/or artificially coloured plant material may be used, unless otherwise stated in the schedule. Plant material should be in water or a water-retaining substance unless plant material will remain turgid throughout the event. There should be no foliage below water level. Plant material should be clean and without insects.

2. Accessory – Any item other than fresh, cut plant material which accents, interprets or adds feeling to the theme (e.g. ribbons, figurines, stone etc.) An accessory should blend in colour, size, texture, and line with the overall exhibit. No artificial plant material is to be used.

While at the flower show ask any Garden Club volunteer for assistance.
