Guest speaker, Kathryn McCourt's presentation was: "An Autumn Stew: Fall Planting of Perennials/Growing Veggies in Pots".
Kathryn McCourt is a retired teacher, bookeeper, freelance writer, florist and gardener. She has been involved in growing vegetables and perennials since she was three. Kathryn was a founding member of the Penticton Farmers' Market and Penticton Urban Agriculture Association. Currently, she is a board member and volunteer at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens.
Kathryn provided members with many wonderful ideas on how to "creatively" have a variety of garden flowers, plants and vegetables using some very unusual containers. She shared humorous examples that contained much wisdom and knowledge on this subject.
